MIUI Factory Reset on Startup

Hi,

I recently rooted and installed MIUI rom on my droid x via ClockworkRecoveryMod planning to try a bunch of roms. After installing MIUI I did not like it but i have a problem every time I reboot my phone or switch it on it has all the custom apps ie apps i installed removed thus I cannot get into clockwork recover mod as the files are removed when I reboot but now Im planning to install b00sted ICS now. Please help as fast as you can guys. And also I cannot access google play it says me 'server error'.

Does MIUI come with gapps installed? If not that could have been your issue. If you want to install a new ROM anyway why not just sbf and start fresh?

Have you tried getting into CWM from the power menu? Will it not let you install apps at all? Are you saying after you flashed miui all your apps were gone and you expected them to be there or that everytime you install apps and then reboot everything you did is erased?

Do the power menu reboot->Recovery if that doesn't boot into CWM get ROM Manager (side-load it if you are having issues with Play Store) and choose to flash recovery then choose Droid X (2nd-init)

Hi thanks for the reply. I dont known if it came with gapps but I installed gapps with the rom anyway. I'm a newbie could you please tell me what is sbf and how to do it.

Could you plese tell me how to get to power menu and then to CWM menu. No, it lets me install but as I cant acces google play i'm installling from apk files. I'm saying that everytime I reboot everything i did is erased even my wifi password.

Thats the problem everytime I switch off my phone and turn it on all the apps are erased thus the data required for me to get into recoverymod is deleted

Hold down the power button (top of the phone) and it should bring up a menu (Power off, reboot, recovery, sleep mode, etc). It's different for every rom and I'm not sure what miui you are on. if recovery isn't listed just press reboot and it should bring up another menu with recovery as an option.

Are you on wizards miui or beanstown miui? Wizards you don't flash gapps so that would for sure break things. beans miui you have to flash gapps but you have to flash DX specific miui gapps, not the same gapps as other aosp roms.

Thanks for the reply but currently I'm SBFing but I think it was wizards miui and I flashed DX specified gapps but not MIUI DX Specific

ok, don't flash gapps with wizards miui! they are included.
