    Installation
    • If you on custom ROM (CM, MIUI, LiquidICS, etc.) goto step 6.
    • Download Droid 2 Recovery Bootstrapper CWM 5.0.2.0 and Framaroot.apk to sdcard.
    • On phone: Settings->Applications(Enable Unknown sources)->Development->Enable USB Debugging.
    • Install Framaroot.apk, launch it and select "Gimli", reboot phone.
    • Install Droid2RecoveryBootstrap_CWM5.0.2.0.apk, launch it, select "Bootstrap Recocery", grant Superuser access and reboot phone.
    • Download twrp_cm11_dx.zip, latest gapps and ROM to sdcard.
    • Reboot phone into CWM Recovery or if you on stock firmware launch Droid X Bootstrapper and press "Reboot Recovery".
    • In CWM choose wipe data/factory reset (this will completly delete all your data on phone except sdcard), then install zip from sdcard and select twrp_cm11_dx.zip.
    • Reboot system and immediately enter the bootmenu (press vol- on blue LED).
    • (It's touch) Recovery -> Team Win Recovery.
    • In TWRP choose Install and select ROM, then slide, after install Reboot -> System.
    • Wait while phone boot up, complete the setup, then reboot phone.
    • On screen with android on red background press menu hardware key, then choose Install and select gapps.
    • Reboot -> System.

    • Performance --> Force high-end graphics(optional)
    • Aero Control (play store) -->Menu --> CPU Performance --> Govenor Settings --> smartass
    • Aero Control (play store) --> Menu --> GPU Control --> GPU Control
    • Aero Control (play store) --> Menu --> Memory Tuning --> Low Memory Option

    wow, thanks! I'm trying to decide if I should install CM7, CM9 or now this, CM11. We got rid of Vzw, so being on pre-paid we have to make the phones last a little longer. Plus the DX is a great phone to give a kid for their first phone.

    Appreciate the efforts on this classic droid

    First of all, thank you for your work. You seem to be the person to go to when it comes to the Droid X and X2. I'm currently running eclipse v2.3 on my X2. I have a couple of questions.

    1) Will this rom work with the X2?
    2) If not, what rom would you recommend?
    3) My carrier is Page Plus cellular, will flashing a new rom effect my account with them?
