My vote is Vortex RC1, I typically get 18 hours with 15 -20% remaining. Running over-clocked but under-voltage on a 2 year old extended battery. I recently had it go almost 80 hours in standby before it died which I thought was great!

Okay I have flashed 10-12 roms. I have been very satisfied with shuji, vortex rc1, and liberty 3 as far as battery life. Shuji is off the market and that is a shame it is a very nice rom. But everything eventually ends. So in my opinion with natural, normal everyday use, I would have to say that Vortex rc1 is the best in my opinion on battery. I think I will try liberty one more time though.
One other note. I have been using the Go power master battery app. It is a good help on battery life.

That's about like my battery life but I couldn't go back to a non 2nd init ROM. I just plug my phone in every chance I get.
Seems like all the people who get good battery life don't use their phone much, put their phone on wifi or turn off data, which doesn't really impress me. I got over 12 hours of use on Apex taking tons of pictures and using my phone.

I'm on wizards latest miui build. I use my phone a ton. I make themes, so my screen is on for hours doing testing and with the smartass.2 gov and under clocked with juice defender i get about a whole day easy. heavy use, screen on for about 4 hours. I get between 14-18 hours. Now normal use with no theme testing, i get 24 hours everyday all day. Now if I'm at work and my this phone is just sitting all day, i have another work phone, it will last four 30+ hours. It all depends on how you use your phone. doesn't matter what ROM you're on really. I have used them all, and i can crush a battery dead in 3 hours easy on any of the roms available. Lol its all about how you use it. By the way i have the stock battery, i don't waste my money on the extended one to get an extra hour. It's not worth it to me.

Typed from my laptop.
I installed OTA 605 with go power and I was charging after 6 hours of light use. I installed vortex, and done alot of texting, lot of words with friends and I am getting 12 plus. I agree with stryker though, you can drain a battery pretty quick regardless of the rom you use. Find the rom that suits you and your needs and just do it. If you only use your phone for minimal use stock would probably work, read the forum and post so that others will know. That is what the forums are for, to help each other out.
Just to see, I barely used my phone all day. It only had 34 minutes of screen time and I got 13 hours and 20 mins on CM7. Although my stock battery is probably messed up and the phone doesn't read it right even after multiple battery cache wipes.
