I tried search but didn't find an answer

Semi new to DX but am slowly learning. I want to be able to have a different ring tone for different contacts. I know how to do it using the factory installed tones but I want to be able to use ring tones I downloaded. I converted from BB storm where this was possible. Can someone please tell me if this is possible on the DX. Thanks in advance...

Download ringdroid and assign the ringtones to your contacts like normal.

There is also an app called WhoIsIt that will allow you to assign custom notifications to contacts...

Handcent will allow you to customize for text by contact...

You should also be able to add custom ringtones by editing whichever contact (open contact, hard menu key select edit, scroll down to additional info, scroll down to ringtones)...

Failure isn't falling down, failure is staying down.

I had made these screenshots for another thread on the same subject

like STG said select the specific contact you want to assign a custom ringtone for and press hard menu button on phone
    and press Edit button

scroll down and click "additional info"

then click on Ringtone and select the ringtone of your choice

I believe you can edit the individual ringtones for contacts in the already installed Contacts. If you choose Edit for a contact then open the Additional Info section and scroll to the bottom there is a section for Call Handling which allows you to choose a ringtone.

No extra app is required that I know of.
