Well, I attempted to flash the rubix focused 0.5 found here: http://www.droidxforums.com/forum/dr...uys-crazy.html via Rom manager. i followed every step, but when it came time to install from zip, the file was nowhere to be found. so instead, i selected the droid 928 blackglass dexeerr-theme.zip, and well, that was a HUGE mistake (seeing now that it's not an actual full rom). my phone is now stuck at the M screen, i can NOT boot into recovery (i did make a backup prior to formatting), and i get stuck at the bootloader screen that says "battery ok, okay to program, transfer mode: usb" (while plugged into my windows computer) however, this is the first time i've hooked it up to my netbook, being that i always use my mac for everything so i never got the windows drivers installed on the netbook.

i looked at the link for rsdlite 4.8 and the partial sbf for 2.2 ota, but again, i don't have drivers installed on the netbook, and it won't accept the drivers. the mac, it just does not see the phone at all (which doesn't matter, cuz rsdlite doesn't work on it)

SO...what do i do now? i'm out of town, waiting on a call about a job offer, and i NEED this phone. i need some help!

I may have made progress...

i held down home and power, and i got to a screen with a droid and a triangle with an exclamation point in it. i started pressing all the buttons and the search button brought me to a recovery screen, where i had options to apply update.zip, wipe data/factory reset. so i did the wipe/reset and rebooted after it was wiped, waiting to see what happens now. it didn't do any install, so i think i'm still stuck where i was.

my next step is going to repeat the same procedure, except i'm going to apply update.zip

well, go figure. i need a way to read my SD card from the computer, and i do not have an adapter to do so. i don't have the update.zip file on my card as i thought, so i'm still at square one, since i cannot get either the mac or the netbook to access the sd card

You don't have an old phone posting around that takes a micro sd? If you do, pop it in and access it through mass storage mode...

that was a thought, but i'm not home, and don't have access to any phone that is capable, but i ran to wal-mart and picked up a reader....trying that now lol

well, after applying the update.zip, and attempting the recovery-update.zip files, i gete: failed to verify whole-file signature followed by e: signature verification failed

i'm thinking this isn't looking good

well, gave up, passed out at 7am. called verizon, they are sending me a new phone, overnight, saturday delivery. rock on!

Bricked !!! myself i dont like that term. Really. I stuck mine trying to flash a rom a week ago at work and that was a mistake. Lucky the very next day a 2.2 kinda sbf with RSDlite 4.8 came available that you can flash your phone and get it back up n going. I also wint that same day to verizon before I knew about the thb 2.2 and they sent me a refurbished phone. And I didn't think it was as good as mine because I've never had 1 bit of a problem with mine.so I sent it back
I did all this on a friday! Flashed it got the phone up in going saturday morning . And the phone came on a monday.sent the ref back on a wednesday

yeah, i have the 2.2 sbf and rsd lite, but i always use my mac for everything, my netbook is mainly kept for doing performance tunes on my truck. i've never connected the phone to the netbook (until after i got stuck) so i was unable to load the drivers to be able to use rsd lite. i'm betting that once i get new phone, get drivers installed on my netbook, i'll be able to get my original working again.

however, they are sending me a brand new phone, complete retail box package, so i'm not even going to bother with my old one. i will be for sure getting those stupid drivers installed right away tho on the netbook...LOL

I find it funny that so many android users own macs... You'd figure they'd go for iPhone.
