    Keyboard Malfunction

As of late, whenever I go to type a text message, the keyboard sort of shorts out. I'll be typing and all of a sudden it shift to the message thread screen (the one without the keyboard). I'll hit the message box to pull up the keyboard and start typing again, but the words won't show up or only a half of a letter will be visible. Sometimes it's the space button that is the trigger, sometimes it's just a random key. I tried restarting it and it didn't seem to help. Any thoughts?

Mine did the exact same thing. You need to go to applications in settings and click on all then click on multitouch keyboard and then click on clear data and then it will be fixed!

Thanks for the speedy response. But I ran into a problem.... I went into settings, then went into applications and the only options were: Unknown sources, quick launch, manage applications, running services, development, and double tap home launch. So I couldn't exactly find what you were talking about. If I stay in settings, there is a category that says Language and Keyboards, and in there is a section labeled Multi-Touch Keyboard, but I still can't find anywhere to clear data. Any suggestions, or do you happen to know if I'm looking in the wrong place?

Settings, Applications, Manage Applications is what you want, find the keyboard, tap it, and clear the data or cache option, which ever one is available.

You need to go into manage applications, then select the all tab at the top, then go to the app and clear data.

Edit: Drat...two edits in one post..not good lol

Clearing the Keyboard and Language cache

I have gone into the settings, Keyboard and Language, Multi keyboard and there is no clear data...just clear learned words and this isn't fixing the problem. Any suggestions as to where I might find the "clear data"?

    thank you!!!
