Help!!! Phone won't load from sd card or boot up!!!

Hi all. I am pretty new to all this. I tried to load Apex 2.0 to my droid x and now it won't go past the motorola boot when you first start up the phone. When I do a hard reset and wipe cache and factory reset then I try to load from my sd card but it keeps saying failed to open no such file exists and signatur verification failed. Also when I reboot it just freezes up. It is the 340 version and using froyo. Please help!!!

You can't load roms through stock recovery you have to load them through clockwork. I.e bootstrap into recovery then install from sd card

Apex 2.0 can only be loaded from rooted .596 Gingerbread, so you'll need to flash the 2.3.340 sbf to fix. Keep your phone powered down until you're ready to flash the sbf so you don't drain the battery.

I want to say on froyo though. I tried to load apex so now the phone is froze up. Is spf ing it the only way to fix it? Like I said I'm new to all this so I'm still trying to learn all the spf and flashing. I haven't dont any of that yet.

You can try getting into clockworkmod recovery to restore a backup if you made one. Try these methods to get into clockwork...Boot Into Recovery From Power Off State

But I'm pretty sure you'll need to sbf, so I'd go ahead and start downloading the 2.3.340 file from the link I provided. Just make sure to burn the disc as an image using the instructions in that thread...don't burn it just like a normal disc. We can help you through it, but that method should be easy going for you.

Yes sbf is the only way to fix it. You'll be on froyo after the sbf is finished.

Apex 2 is a gingerbread only rom which is why you got into problems

Thanks for the help. I am using a computer that doesn't have a cd burner at the moment so I will have to wait till tomorrow night. I will try it out then and if I have problems I will post again.
