use clockworkmod in Safe Mode??

Is there any way I can get clockworkmod Bootstrapper to run in Safe Mode??
I am able to use the Market to download it but it won't show up in the app drawer, and there doesn't seem to be any other way to launch it.

I even tried cd'ing to the 'app' directory in Terminal Emulator - but it doesn't show up in there either...

in 'Normal' mode my DX is freezing just after it boots up, but in Safe Mode it's fine.

anyway - I really need to get into Clockworkmod and it's driving me crazy that there's no way for me to boot into it.

help? ideas?

I'm running a rooted DX 2.3.340 with Apex 1.4.1 if that's any help.

If clockwork is installed, just pull the battery and it should reboot into clockwork automatically next boot.

thanks - but no go.

I had to go into Stock Recovery mode and 'Erase Data' (hard reset) - this brought me back to the Maderscock (sp?) 2.3.340 and from there I was able to download and install Clockwork.
