That's really strange...never heard of that. Yeah, I would take it back and get a replacement, unless you really want to try to flash the Gingerbread sbf as a last resort...if so, we can help with it

Does it involve opening the phone up?
No, it's safe to do, but you don't want you're battery to run out during it, or it won't charge the battery in the phone if it fails. So, if you want to try, power off your phone to save the battery until you're ready to flash it.
You'll need a burnable CD or a thumb drive to burn the image to, and the file and instructions are here...SBF Live Disc (Note: you want the second download for 4.5.596 Gingerbread).
I just want to say that I have done well over 20 SBFs to this phone. There is absolutely nothing to worry about. It is really nerve racking the first couple times, but I assure you that your phone will be fine.

I have had the same problem but, I have service through page plus. Is there a way I can fix the hardware issue myself?
