I'm not. Are there any other options other that rooting my phone or buying the pay version? So far, I've not seen any.

No. The paid version still requires root. Maybe try an uninstaller app

so i got it, if anyone needs help in the future. you have to go into settings and find device administrators. this is probably in a different location in different phones, but for mine, it was in location & security.

there you can uncheck the box for lookout. after that, it will uninstall normally. no special programs or rooting required.

@Ocarinaboy, you are right. I run Support over at Lookout and users need to disable the device admin privilege from Lookout to uninstall our app. Users have to manually give the app this right after installing it; there is a button in the app that directs the user over to that page to grant the permission. We are going to change the way that works soon to make it more clear what the permission allows and how to remove it in order to make uninstalling easier.

    Sorry for the confusion.

I have had lookout, and no device admin from the app... Installed with no problems or extra steps.

what is custom? Is it rooted? Is it a custom ROM? Maybe overclocking or deodexing... I'll be there one day I suppose.
Danny's Droid X. Still custom as all get up...
