Droid X camera button not working

Randomly out of nowhere my camera button isn't working and now I can't do anything in recovery mode. Does anyone else have this problem? How can I get rid of the root on my phone to turn it in for a defect? Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance.

You might need to SBF it if you can't do anything in recovery. What system version are you on?

I'm not 100% sure. I know its 2.2, and I got the ota update not too long ago, but I wasn't able to install it. So whatever is right before that?

Go to menu > settings > about phone. See what the androis version is, and the system version.

Yea system version and android version are different. Your android version should say 2.2.1 and your system version should say 2.3.340

I can use home key (or one of the other hard buttons) to select "OK" in recovery.... is that just me?

There have been a few threads where users had the camera button fail, if joey's suggestion of using the home button doesn't work in recovery you will probably have to sbf to return it to verizon. The best way to tell what sbf you need is to boot into the bootloader, usually you hold volume down and camera to get into, but I've heard you can use volume down and home instead.
