Droid X won't boot past M screen or into recovery mode

Earlier today my droid x, was running slow so I did a power off to restart it. Usually do that every day or so. When I went to turn the power back on it would not boot past the "M" screen. No new or weird apps, it worked fine all day before this.
I have tried to go into recovery mode with no luck. I have taken the battery out and let it sit for an hour then tried again with no luck.

I have OTA 2.2, and I am rooted for wifi tether, nothing else.
I've had the phone since launch day with no other problems until this randomly happened.

I can get into the bootloader screen, but it is my understanding that I cant go back to 2.1 from OTA 2.2.

Anyone, have any suggests on how to bring my X back to life,,, ahhhhh. I don't know much more than the basics about android.

I'm a new DXer, one of the first things I did after rooting and deodexing, was learn the sbf process. I would think the best option would be to go get the 2.2 sbf and reload (it's very easy).

Like I said, I'm new, so I would wait for someone else to validate my thought or give you the correct answer... if I'm off base.

Boot into stock recovery. Push the power button and home button together. Release the home key when the M screen appears. Push the search key, then use the volume rocker to go down to factory reset, and push the camera button.

Thats the problem, I cant get the phone to boot into recovery mode, even when I push the buttons it wont move past the M screen.

I guess my question now is, since I cant get into the stock recovery is there any sbf I can reload over the 2.2 OTA to try and get things working again?
