Droid X vibrating when set to "never" or "only when in silent mode"

My X vibrates when receiving an incoming email, even when the vibrate settings are set to "never" or "only in silent mode". I'm on call 24/7 and I need the phone to ring at night, so I can't put the phone on silent mode, so it vibrating at night is quite annoying.

Any idea why this happens, and what I can do to stop it?

    Thanks,

    Evan

Have you checked both settings>sound and the settings inside gmail itself? There are vibrate settings in both places.

Settings>Sound are only for ringtone/notification settings... individual alerts must be configured in their own apps

That's what I was afraid the problem was going to be. Any way to quickly change several email accts from/to vibrate, or do I have to go through each one 2x/day?

There's likely an app that can control global vibrate settings - no idea what it'd be though.

If you are looking for something to turn it off during the night the Bedside app is very effective

Open the email app and check the options for notifications, might be that.

No, we know where the notification settings are... this poster is looking for a setting/widget which can quickly, and easily, toggle vibration ON and OFF for all parts of the phone.

I use Ringer Toggle Widget - which has 3 modes - Ring, Vibrate, Silent - and I never get vibrations in Silent, but not sure if it's true for emails - you might want to give it a try at least!

Extended Controls has a Silent/Vibrate/Normal Toggle widget, clean too.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I'll give them a shot! Will they allow the phone to ring, but silence everything else and kill the vibrate feature too? It looks like they will only allow everything to ring, silent, or vibrate, not allow some but not all.....
