A friend of mine with an Incredible hates it and that was his number one reason for rooting, to remove City ID. Its a cool feature but I don't like it being forced on us. At least the other stock apps don't popup all the time.

I talked to a VZW rep tonight and they told me we cant remove it it will just quit popping up and asking us.
At the end of the trial it will allow you to select "Do Not Remind Me"
Atleast I seem to remember it doing that on my Incredible.

It's just plain stupid. I still have the older app that was free that does the same thing. I guess the developer was forced to remove it. Anyhow, who has rooting instructions for the X!? Ha! This is ridiculous!![]()
I can't believe anyone would pay a monthly fee for that service, even if it's only a couple of bucks.

Actually, I would possibly consider it - I get a lot of work-related calls from around the country and I like to know who is calling before I answer (and many of these numbers aren't in my contact list). Many times I'll google the area code and will know who is calling (at least from what general location).
Thanks for the replies! I am happy to hear that it will finally stop. I have yet to receive a pop-up.
