So I've tried every menu option to get rid of the clicking when typing a message....with no avail. Help?!?!?!?! It's really annoying to EVERYONE around me. Thank you!

Hmm... mine doesn't make a noise when using the keyboard. I'm not sure where the setting is, though.
Go into the Language and Keyboard settings. From there you can manage the settings for the keyboards installed. Swype has it's own set of settings, as does the stock keyboard.
From your home screen, hit the menu button (lower left). Click on Settings. Click on Sound & Display. 7th item is Audible Touch Tones. If it's checked, your keyboard clicks. If you uncheck, it's silent. Below that is another key Audible Selection. If that item is checked, then you'll also hear a different click whenever you hit a widget or icon. Actually, I kind of like having them on but I can understand how it could be annoying to co-workers.
I don't suppose you're using swype, are you?
ok, figured it out... had to go into the 'swype' settings. thanks for the help!
OK, for the record, I use SKYPE also and checked the Language and Keyboard setting and it had Audio Feedback switched ON for the SKYPE keyboard. I'd only played with the Audible Touch Tone and Audible Selection switches under Sound & Display and if I uncheck both, I do not get any sounds on either the phone dialer or the typing keyboard, and it also grays out the Audio Feedback switch on the SKYPE keyboard under the Language and Keyboard setting, so it appears that at least on my phone, the Sound and Display choices will override the ones under Language and Keyboard. If I uncheck BOTH Audible Touch Tones and Audible Selection under Sound & Display, it does in fact silence both the phone dialer and typing keyboard.
