Having a signal issue is it just me?

I purchased 2 droid x's for me and my wife. Day1 went fine, day 2 her phone starts getting intermitent signal losses. I checked the antenna signal strength and hers is always 20 to 30 db less than mine. The answer I received from the store was there were too many apps running. We ran app killer and the bars went up but the signal didn't change on the antenna meter. Any ideas out there? Is it a bad antenna?

I would suggest updating the PRL (dial *22899) and after it updates do a reboot.

The bars that you see on the front are really just symbols of what your signal is, the db that you saw is the real number to pay attention to.

mine and my wife's x seems to go from 1 bar to 3-4 bars up and down through out the day... strange because i am in a full coverage area

edit: @taypotts did this seemed to help, went from one bar to 4 - will see how long it last :P

Could it be possible that the amount of people on the 3g network could affect it some?

I have noticed that when I have the WIFI enabled, I get no 3G reception and my signal was very low on phone reception. At the same time, I also notice that I can pick out apps on the Market but it ques them for download. I left it over night and all files were still in the que. I disabled the WIFI and the files download almost instantly, the 3G popped up, and the phone signal with to 4 bars. Is WIFI a reception killer, even while docked?

My bars seem to fluctuate quite a bit too. What does the PRL do? Thx.

When you are connected to wifi, the phone turns the 3G off because there is no reason for it to be running. Wifi is faster and uses less battery as well.

mm.. does not compute, i still need 3g to receive and answer my calls, so why would my signal go down just because of wifi?

will see what today's update will fix.... if in fact it does come out
