Froyo update royally messed up root

jglawrence check out this post it worked for me and you are describing my situation exactly, Could someone just verify something for me really quick?

Alright, so I tried that method and it seemed to work. Doroot said it completed successfully but the phone was nonresponsive afterwards. Took the battery out and now it vibrates and says "Droid" like it's starting up normally but the Motorola emblem never comes off the screen

EDIT: Wiped cache partition and it booted, no root still. I'll keep trying doroot, if anybody has any other ideas please let me know.

EDIT: Ran doroot again, everything "worked", but phone is still not rooted! Is there a terminal method i can try?
