Emails remove from Droid but dont remove from the Server

I noticed once i remove emails from my Droid X, they are still on my regular email account on my PC. I just traded my original Droid for the X and on the original DROID..you can set up your email account on the Droid to remove them from the server once you hit delete on the DROID. I cant find this feature on the X. So now i am getting spam and my regular emails on my X and cant even permanently delete them without removing them from my PC. Oh wait...i already said that. lol

    Help.

My problem is the same. Using IMAP settings, the very same settings I used on my iPhone. Messages deleted from DX still appear in INBOX from PC.

Who is your email provider? Are we talking Outlook or a webmail?

Most have some option to keep, archive, or delete messages after being downloaded, like Google. You change it somewhere so the server knows what to do. If you're using gmail on the phone, it will delete them though, with other email providers your mileage will vary. Generally I'd use an app for the provider that allows deleting, if you lose your phone and don't have your messages also appearing in your computer's inbox, you'll be in trouble. If you're using Outlook, there is an option to "keep messages on server" or not, but I can't be more specific, I don't use Outlook anymore.

I am new to droid and just got the x after having a black berry. I am having the same problem that others above are having. I have had a hotmail account for 10+ years and didnt expreience this problem on my bb, but when I delete my hotmail messages on my droid, it doesn't delete them on the hotmail server and re-pushes/sends the messages that I just deleted from droid back to my droid and shows them as new. I have deleted the same damn messages over and over again until I can get to a pc to delete my nbox. Is there any way to delete from droid AND the server at the same time. Please help!!! Very frustrating. Do I need to sever my hotmail relationship and just go to gmail???

It's my own domain through hostgator. The mail server allows POP3 and IMAP. It also has webmail, but I don't use it. I've used IMAP with both Thunderbird and an iPhone, and it worked correctly. It's something about the Droid.
