    Brand new X. Brick out of the box?

    I charged it, turned it on, activated it and began to sync with the backup assistant... then it shut off. It was fully charged and on for about ten minutes before my beautiful new phone died. It tries to reboot about every minute, never making it past the M logo screen. I managed to get it to the factory reset page, & did that... it said it finished the reboot... but apparently it wasn't a success. Now it will make it to the word Droid on the screen.

    Help? Or am I ****ed?

    Try the SBF? Thats not fun at all... hopefully you can find something to fix it..

    Take the phone back to the VZW store and see what they can do. If they can't fix it, they'll prob have to send you a replacement. Tell them you've done the factory reset and it didn't do anything.

    Why would you suggest that to a brand new device. The OP needs to take it back as is for a replacement.

    Agreed, take it back IMMEDIATELY... it's absolutely unacceptable that your phone is acting in this manner out of the box. Do NOT let them send you a "Certified New" phone either (like they tried to do with my son). You paid for a NEW phone, not a refurb. Keep us up to date and ignore boogirl (no offense intended to you boo).

    Welcome to the forums boogirl - definitely try what's been suggested in the thread and if the issue is not fixed, definitely go into VZW or call tech support and request a new device...

    Ok so I took it to VZW today and none of them could figure out why it was malfunctioning. They're overnighting me a brand new phone for free but said in order to do that have have to send it as a "Certified Like New" package so that I get priority over everyone still waiting for theirs. The guy pretty much swore on his job it'd be new. Either way I only paid 90 bucks for it, and anything is better than this piece of **** i have right now >.<
