Fixed it!
add gmail account, while it's trying to connect
Click home button
Now log into you tube with the same gmail account that you are trying to add.
Found this on another android forum.
I was skeptical but out of options and it worked. Try it and let me know if it works.

You may have messed with the APN settings in your battery settings by some chance... I have Froyo on my phone, so maybe that's a Froyo feature, I don't recall. Apps like Juice Defender can interfere with it too.

I just fixed mine as well... although using a much easier step than snwbrder. I just added the 'Power Control' widget and turned sync on. that's the only place i could find the option. it worked for me. you may have had a different issue though.
