    Reformat/Reset my phone?

Morning folks I think it's time to reformat my phone and start clean I guess it's called reset. I googled some process but think it safe to check with the group for expert advise before I go diving into to something I might regret later on.

I do have at least one app I would like to reinstall if possible I think it's "Easy Tether" And maybe others too it all depends.

Following that I do want all my bookmarks available and possibly import just some of them instead of all the junk I saved.
Need to back up my contacts and also just bring back in a few of them not all. I think gmail been backing them up automatically though need to double check.

I am sure other things I want to resintall/import etc as long as i can manke them available in the event I have to go back and retrieve them later.

Just too much junk on the phone right now so I would like to start over with a clean slate until I can afford to buy a newer model phone.

    I have a Motorola Droid X2

    Any help appreaciated folks

root, if not already with Magic MD5 root

    For apps
Install Titanium backup, and buy the pro upgrade and install it (you need them both to restore app data)
Open Titanium Backup and press the "Options" hard-key. Then press "Batch." Run the Backup all User Apps tool and wait for the process to complete.

    For Browser
Bookmark Backup Open "Backup Bookmarks" and backup your browser bookmarks.

verify that contacts are backed up/ synced or backup to sd card

Nandroid: A nandroid backup is a complete image of current system
HowTo: Perform a bootstrap (or nandroid) backup and recovery of X2
Install BSR and make a Nandroid backup

    I assume I root first?

The Titanium won't work because I did not root yet. So root then backup data?

Also I do not have SD Card only back ups on my phone internal storage.

The droid x2 has a internal SD card
    That is all you need.
    What system version is installed?

Problem I want to be able to go back later and get anything else I might not have thought of. That is, apart from what I already mentioned.

Just can't think of what else I don't want to loose but basically if I can get back everything I need later that would be great. Not just that but also my app settings as well.

    The nandroid backs up everything...
Titanium backup pro backs up app data which includes settings
