Did the md5 match when you downloaded rom? If not redownload rom and get a matching md5. If it did match reflash the rom without doing wipes or just do full wipes and reinstall

Hi, yes the MD5 matched. I will have to make a nandroid and backup my launcher/shortcuts before I flash again, since I installed some new apps.

Do your back ups just incase. If you just reflash the rom without wipes it shouldn't remove anything. If you do full wipes and reflash then everything will be gone. If the problem goes away after the reflash, redo your nandroid and delete the old ones. The old nandroid will still have the problem. Your launcher/shortcuts will still be good for future use.

Thanks for the advice. I have made a nandroid, and am also backing up my apps and data with MyBackup Root.

Just a question, when I wiped, flashed VX-L and restored my apps, could restoring the apps have somehow have caused a problem with gapps?

Hey fofopuka which vortex did you download? I was re-reading your first post and it seems you downloaded the wrong one. Did you download VXR, VXL or VXLR? If it was VXR or VXL, those versions had some issues. VXLR is the latest and the one you need to be on. There should be a active link in the last few posts of the thread I linked below. If you are on VXLR then do what i suggested above. If I remember vxl had some camera issues and was fixed in vxlr.

I was looking and the only one I could find on the rootzwiki page was the VXL, I didn't know there is a VXLR

I will have to take a look at that link and read it thoroughly through before trying to install. My SD card is getting full...

Sorry i didnt catch this sooner. Until you get on vxlr you will have some bugs with the version your on. The aroma installer on vxlr is pretty sweet and makes flashing the rom fun. Read the devs first post in that thread and you should be good to go. You will like it so much better.

I have downloaded the VXLR installer and the MD5 checks out, I haven't flashed it yet. I am thinking of flashing VXLR on a different phone to try it out.

Just a general question, if I put this SD card in different Droid X phone, boot to CWM and restore nandroid backup of say, for example RC-1, it should copy everything I had on this phone to the new one, correct?

It will copy what ever the nandroid contained, like apps, and passwords, contacts and so on.
