Thumbs up SOLVED: Removed Google Account; can I do anything with my DX now?

I upgraded my Droid X to a GNex over a year ago; finally decided I want to do something with the older phone. Couldn't get anything Google-wise to work (wouldn't accept my password, for some reason), so removed the account (which, of course, resets the phone to factory specs).

So now, I can't do anything before activating the phone—which of course, I don't want to do, because I love my Galaxy Nexus! So . . . do I now have just a paperweight, or is there some workaround? I'd like to use the Droid X as an mp3 player, if nothing else.

Well, now I have a new, different problem: The phone won't accept my Google account info. I've double- and triple-checked that the info is correct, including logging out and back in on my computer. (I do have a second Gmail account, which worked, but that could be a pain to have to use, especially for downloading all my music from Google Play).

Did you get this figured out? Or are you still stuck?

As I posted, I do have a second Google account, which it accepted, but it won't take my primary account--which, of course, has all my tunes, my apps info, etc. More of a pain in the butt than anything else, but still frustrating.

A factory reset is how I got to this point. I suspect it's because I have my primary Google account associated with my GNex (and Verizon, although not sure why VZW should make any difference).

How to generate an application-specific password if using 2-step verification...

Excellent! That did the trick, thanks! Dunno why I didn't think to try that myself.
