Play Store Always Crashes Instantly on Opening

I've been looking for a solution to the problem stated in the thread title (that is, the play store app [and the original stock market app, and an absurd number of different versions of the store I downloaded from various android communities] refuses to stay open for more than a second or two, at which point the force close message flashes onscreen, disappears, and the market closes.) for around two weeks now, and I've had absolutely no dice. I can't even seem to find a record of anyone else having the same issue. I found loads of threads with similar issues, but all the fixes (clear cache and data, install a different market version, factory reset, etc.) seem to do absolutely nothing. I even went as far as backing up my CWM backups and formatting my sd card, and nothing works. For a little context, I'm currently running CyanogenMod-7.1.0-DROIDX-KANG with android 2.3.7. I was originally using this ROM, but when I found out that the CyanogenMod team released a working ICS CM9 ROM for the Droid X, I flashed that no problem and had fun for a couple days. My X is in poor shape though and runs extremely slowly with that ROM, so I attempted to SBF back to stock to get back to CM7, and that's when things went completely to hell. After a lengthy process, I finally got my X on stock .602 GB and flashed CM7. Things went swimmingly until I tried to get the ICS theme for ADW launcher, and that's when my Play Store stopped working. Now, even after an sbf to .602 (on which the Play store didn't work) and another flash back to CM7, the Play Store crashes instantly each and every time I open it UNLESS it's in airplane mode, where it will sometimes stay open on the loading screen until connection is restored and sometimes it crashes just like if I have a connection. I hope I've provided enough details to get this figured out, because obviously an android phone without app capability is pretty worthless.

I should've mentioned that I've tried redownloading the gapps twice now, and that all of the gapps besides the play store work totally fine

Silly question, but dis you clear the play store data in the Applications menu? I had this issue before and that fixed it.

I did that yes, and I have tried all of the other fixes I've found and nothing has helped.

Manually install this using a root explorer (/system/app). Change the permissions to what the rest of them are (rw-r--r--)
    Then reboot.
    Then reboot to recovery.
Wipe cache and dalvic, Fix permissions, reboot.
Then wipe the apps data and let it update on its own. See if that does anything.

I'm still getting a force close, although now I can actually click the "force close" button if I'm fast enough. before it disappeared immediately, just showing up for long enough for me to guess that it must be a force close prompt. I'm away from my real computer, stuck with a laptop sans cd drive, so I'm in the process of downloading the sbf file for one more try on a factory reset

This makes no sense at all. Do you have ROM manager installed? Try and run a fix permissions through that.
