Droid X Boot Loop - Please Help!

I have a Droid X that I've had a for a while but not used for quite some time now. The reason I stopped using it was because it was stuck in a boot loop and I couldn't fix it. Here's what I tried.

I held the Home button down and powered up. I selected "wipe cache partition" and then "wipe data/factory reset", and then "reboot system now". The boot loop continues. Is there anything else I can try? I tried removing the SD card and then tried the reset but got the same results. I would really love to get this phone working so I can give it to my father to use, but right now it's useless.

Is there a way to boot into Safe Mode? Is there a way to "apply update from sdcard"? If so, what update can I apply? I'd just like to get the stock on there, but I'm willing to put anything on there just go get it working again.

Thanks so much for any help!!!

Awesome. I thought there was no hope. I'm going to try your instructions. I do have a question though. When I get to my bootloader it says "30.04" Do you know which file I need from this site? https://sites.google.com/site/motosbf/droid-x-sbf-files

it doesn't matter too much... the best one in my opinion to use... depending on how updated the phone.. if it's not on the latest... i'd say go with the one that says android system 2.3.3... 4.5.605... it's the... most current that's easy to root and mod and hack

Neo, you are the man! I really thought my phone was a paperweight! It sat there for months because the hard reset was doing nothing and that was all the advice I was seeing on boards. I got my phone working again in less than an hour last night thanks to your instructions!

Hopefully I'll be able to pay it forward to someone else.
