I just got a used Droid X to replace my stolen (old) iPod classic. I'm happy with it; does what I want and can do lots more. (I just use wifi at home and at work for online features, and it's capabable of far more than my iPod was.)
I'm wondering if there's any way to use it as a BASIC cell phone as well. I do NOT need a wireless data plan, nor do I want to pay for it.
I would like a pay-by-the-minute talk & text only cell phone plan (such as my wife has on Boost Mobile or we've had on TracPhone in the past). I would use the Droid as I'm doing now, but just add the ability to talk or text for $0.25/min. on the few occasions when I would choose to do so.
Is there any such thing?
- What company provides it?
- How would I need to hack the phone to make this work? (I'm totally open to doing so--unlocking, jailbreaking, whatever.)
Thanks!
