did I lose my root?

The verizon tech service by phone had me reinstall everything on my droid x. OK, I lost my wi fi icon to tether with but someone on the board showed me how to get it back. I still have a superuser icon and it works. But i do not have the icon that said root on it, i cannot remember the whole description, i think something like i4root . Anyway when I hit the tether icon it will not let me get on the internet with my computer. Did I lose the root when I had the reinstall done. If so can anyone tell me how to get it back. Thanks

Check with rootchecker app in the market to see if you have root

Z4 does nothing but root your phone so if you're rooted you don't need it.

And call *228 option 1 for the internet

Are you using the stock hotspot app? And what's your system version?

system version is 2.3.340.mb810.verizon.en.us wifi tether I got off the market . When verizon restarted my complete system, it took the rooted wifi icon off my phone and this one was recommended by someone on this board. Thanks for helping me, I will wait on your advise.
