    Multiple audio problems

    Hi all,

So, I've had my X for 2 years and it's always had some minor, annoying problems, like rebooting sporadically, ringtones disappearing, etc. My X was rooted up until about 6 months ago.Just rooted, no roms or anything special. I only used root for screenshots and the occasional hot spot access.

My (rooted) phone was then starting to have lots of audio/video issues. My phone wouldn't ring, it wouldn't let me play audio files. It would say that this type of file wasn't allowed, even though it had just played fine the previous day. EXTREMELY slow response to touch. My camera wouldn't work. It would give me an "oops" message that saide that the camera was unavailable and to try again later. When it does "seem" to work, I go back to look at my pictures and all I have is a gray pic of nothing. It would also sometimes take me 15-20 seconds to make a phone call! Each time these things happened, I would have to do a battery pull and reboot. All would be working right again.
I had tried clearing the cache, deleting apps that I thought might be suspect, but they continued to happen. I realized that I used these rarely, so I went back to stock hoping to fix some of the annoying problems. It fixed things for about 2 days. response time was much quicker and I didn't have any problems. But of course all of them returned.

It seems that these problems occur after I've had it plugged in to charge overnight, but this isn't always the rule of thumb. I didn't have it plugged in at all last night and this moring, my ringer isn't working and I can't hear anything on the other end when I try to make a phone call. My music also isn't playing. I was in the middle of exercising...music playing...when all of a sudden it just stopped and gave me the "not allowed" message. Again, the battery pull. I'm ready for a new phone, but don't really have the funds right now for that. Would love to be able to fix what ails this phone and keep it for another 6 months if possible. Thanks for any help

Well my personal suggestion would be a factory reset. Since its that old there's probably lots of things that have built up and just needs to be cleared

But you said you were rooted. If your willing to root again I'd say go ahead and throw a good stable ROM on it and you won't have the problems that come with stock. That and you'll have to do a factory reset when you flash it so most of your problems will be fixed. And then you can even overclock and your phone will be super fast.

But if you don't wanna ROM I'd say backup all your apps contacts ect. And then do a factory reset.

Thanks huber, I think that's my next step. Although, I forgot to mention that I just unrooted around 4-6 months ago and did a factory reset then. Coincidentally, My phone went completely haywire today. Screen constantly turning on, camera starting on it's on. Screens constantly changing. The only thing that stopped it was removing the sd card and re inserting it. Reboot is on the schedule. Thanks again!

Update : i haven't reformatted yet. Oddly enough, i deleted GO home launcher and my phone is working great. No audio problems and much quicker. Wondering if that was the culprit. Time will tell, but response time is excellent now

Okay, scratch that last post. My phone is unusable at this time. I changed batteries a couple of days ago and then when I turned it on, all I got was the exclamation triangle and the little green droid man. Actually, a little box with an arrow pointing out of it appeared first and then the triangle and little man. It did eventually load and I reformatted the sd card and reset the phone to factory settings. It is now stuck on the triangle/green guy. any thoughts or is this phone doomed for the junk yard?
    Thanks!
