Angry Pinterest Spam - can't delete app

A few weeks ago I downloaded an app for Pinterest. It was working fine but I never really use it. I kept noticing that I was getting spam messages that appear in the top navigation bar - either stars or + signs in green and red. When I check what they are, they are all fake ad's for dating, shopping online, etc. I finally caught one loading up and saw that it says "Ads by Pinterest" which is how I know its this app.

I went to the Play Store to try to delete it and there is no listing for it anywhere. I have an icon in my list of apps but, can't delete there either.

Is anyone else having this problem? Can someone please let me know how I can go about deleting it?

    Thanks!

Settings > applications > manage apps > and find interest then delete it.

thank you SO much! I didn't know about that section, I should have hunted. I found Pinterest in that list and uninstalled. Crossing my fingers that takes care of the stupid spam.

Again, thanks for your quick response!

Glad you got it solved. That's called Airpush advertising. You can get an Airpush detector app from the store to find apps that do that. Also there is one called Airpush Permanent Opt-out. The name says it all.

Thanks, I will be sure to get that app, I wouldn't want this problem again. It filled up my whole notification bar - very annoying!!
