Are you on a ROM or just stock rooted?

If clearing dalvik and cache didn't do anything have you tried a factory reset? If that doesn't work, a sbf might be in order...

Do you have bootstrap recovery installed? If not see common questions sticky in DROID X discussion forum... you wipe cache from inside there.

Same thing happened to me. It started off as a fews streaks that ran across the screen but later on they turned into black spots that would not go away no matter what. So I ended up having to sbf and do a warranty replacement. Hope this helps

Well, it looks like the black streaks are getting worse, I do not know what to do. I do have a upgrade but I have enjoyed using my own phone. I do have a few questions for the board.

    1. If i upgrade what phone should I get.
    2. I want a phone that I can root.
    3. If I do not root and use the hot spot that they are going to offer, how much more data will be used when the phone is 4g. I now have a Droic x.
    4. Is the difference in 4g and 3g that much faster, if not should I just purchase a used droid x.
    5. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I am still using this phone because it is not real bad, but I understand it will continue to get worse. So I bought a droidx in perfect condition along with a docking station for 50.00 and will move all over to it soon. I will have to root the new phone, it has never been rooted.
