Replaced lcd, now hard keys dont work... help??

so i decided that rather than pay the $99 insurance fee for a phone that arguably isnt work a hundred bucks, i would replace my lcd screen since i had dropped it and there was some bleeding involved. I got the screen in, took everything apart, installed new screen, reassembled, and booted up to find that my 4 bottom hard keys didnt work. the power button and camera button works fine, but the volume and bottom keys arent working correctly. also, it wants to go to speech input randomly. I am assuming that I just dont have one of the ribbon cables on right via one of the many contact points. but i have traced them back as far as i can, cleaned with rubbing alcohol, everything i can think of with no avail. any help that you guys/girls could give me would be appreciated. I really cant afford to replace this phone right now. thanks! -david

note: i have tried to do a hard reset, but since the home key doesnt work, it will not let me. also, i just assumed that since it worked fine before, and this was the only thing that i have done since it worked, that it was a hardware/user error issue rather than software.

I just did this today and I am having the exact same problem, but my volume keys and menu key works. Also, I got sent a bad replacement LCD. Go figure.

Did either of you figgure out the problem? I too had my digitizer and lcd replaced at the same time on two of my DXs, now the home key and mic doesn't work on either phone. That's more than coincidental.
