Do something special to boot animations?

I am trying to change the boot animation on my X. I have pushed bootanimation.zip to both /data/local and /system/media using Terminal Emulator, adb push, and root explorer. All I'm getting is a black screen after the M logo. I was able to successfully change it to the red rage boot animation by pushing it to /system/media but the sizing was off and it didn't looks so good. But I have tried 2 different BA's and get the black screen. Do I need to modify something to make it compatible with the X? Below are the 2 I was trying to push.

    [Boot Animation] Qteknology's Splash Inverted v2 (Updated 2010-3-3) - xda-developers

[Boot Animations] & [Live Wallpapers] Nexus Holiday in a variety of colors - xda-developers

    PS I have rooted 2.1

Your problem is most likely that you have not renamed the .zip file. It must be renamed bootanimation.zip and have it placed on the ROOT of your sdcard then run your terminal emulater with:

    su
    cp /sdcard/bootanimation.zip /data/local/
    reboot

As for the resizing... Open into the bootanimation.zip then into the desc.txt file and you will see:

    xxx xxx xx
    p 1 0 part0
    p 0 10 part1

    Change that to:

    480 854 xx
    p 1 0 part0
    p 0 10 part1

The last two "X"s represents the frames per second and you should leave the original value alone... I hope this helps and let me know if you have anymore problems, maybe i can help
