    Droid X Camera issues

    I am running Droid X 2.3.4 (4.5.621.MB810.Verizon.en.US)

When I try to take a picture, my camera will either freeze/close and the picture will not get saved. Also when I go the "Files" -> "SD Card" -> "DCIM" -> "Thumbnails", it would close and go back to the App Drawer. I really want to know why this is happening and how I can prevent it from happening again.
    Thank You.

Try going into settings > applications > manage apps > all tab > scroll down to camera and select > then wipe cache.

Then do that again for camcorder and gallery.

Recently had the same camera problem - freezing up the phone and not saving. We found Pandora Radio was the culprit in our case. Once that was uninstalled the camera returned to normal. Odd tho because Pandora had been installed for a while without camera problems. Have not reinstalled it yet to see if the problem repeats itself. We cleared the data, cleared the cache, tried an alternative camera app (which launched the camera but force closed), then after removing Pandora, the icon still froze the phone but the hard button did not. After two reboots icons and hard button all worked and the camera was back to normal. If you don't have Pandora disregard this post lol.

oo yea ive deleted some pictures that i assume are "corrupted" but idk if that fixes it completely. I also noticed last time for the first time since the last OTA update, my phone would turn itself on again after being shut off >.> the OTA update was supposed to fix that.

    Droid X Camera Freeze

I had same problem - camera and video camera freezing when I tried to use it on Droid X. The only thing that fixed it for me was to reset the SD card. I tried all the clear the cache suggestions but it did not work for me. Home > Settings > Storage > Unmount SD Card > (then u can) > Format SD Card. Camera and video camera work again. SD Storage Card is cleaned up - probably had some fragmented files on the SD card.
