I would say the advantage of rooting. 621 directly is that you dont have to spend all that time sbfing and such. Either way will work fine.

There would be no reason to just do it. If you ever have to SBF .621 then just use the direct root method. That's my plan.

Right. Unless you don't have Windows available or have issues with RSD Lite. If that is the case then the 604 SBF ISO is a good option as there is not a 621 ISO

There is, I believe he was saying in the case that he didn't have a Windows PC readily available or was having issues with RSD.

Yes, there is a .621 SBF for RSD. But there is no .621 ISO like the rest of the ISO's put together by 1KDS.

I personally swear by the direct method that doesn't require .604 sbf.

I've used it countless times without fault.

I used the thumb drive method as well as using a vm

You don't need.to take the 621 update to get the. 15 radio unless you want to. There are no real advantages to doing so and once you are on 621 you can't revert. Let me find you some links.

First make a nandroid of the Rom you are on now.

.15p flashable radio To update the radio you will have to SBF to Froyo and follow the instructions in the .15 flashable radio thread.

The easiest way to SBF is to use Linux solution to your Windows/RSD lite problems (Download the Froyo Link and follow the instructions in the thread.) Root Froyo, Install bootsrapper, Flash The .15 Radio in CWM, SBF to Gingerbread .605 using 1kds only, (download from the link above.) Root GB, Install bootstrapper, and restore your Nandroid (or flash a new Rom if you wish,)
