Damaged sd card! Please help me out guys/gals
Hey guys i just was downloading a new rom on my computer and then when i plugged my phone in to the computer and put on usb mass storage to transfer the rom to the phone (ive done this many times), but when i safely ejected the phone from the computer i got a damaged sd card warning saying i may have to reformat it! I have my photos saved but all of my roms, backups, apps data, etc. is on the sd card, and i really don't want to lose any of that, ive tried rebooting, didnt work, turning off taking out memory card putting back in then turning back on and it didn't, work. And my computer is not recognizing my phone now when i plug it in! Please help I'm going to need my sd card to be working for the weekend.

It's late and I'm not reading your op closely, but in-general, if you have a failing memory, it's best to not use that memory until it's backed up. if you have pictures you want to save, don't use that card until you are ready to extract what you can. I'd go with software such as winhex. it allows you an incredible amount of power to find/extract files from damaged storage hardware.
Good luck.

For now should i use a blank sd card and keep the damaged one asside to fix?

yeah, if you have a spare sd card to put in your phone, then I'd just go with that and keep your precious card off to the side till you can figure out which, if any, photos can be saved.
Winhex is for some, incredibly difficult to use, but i've had tremendous success extracting valuable files from crashed hard drives. Good luck. Gotta run.

OK dude I had the same thing happen call customer service and say that when I formatted the SD card from the DX the SD card broke (which is true for me) and they sent em a new 16gb SD card with USB/Standard SD card adapters.

Your ROM should operate correctly with a new (blank) card because the ROM is OS (operating system) and should at this point be on the phone side of storage, not the sd card side.
Any Android Phone at hand!!
