Can Droid X be used as WiFi device without activating the 3G phone?

I would like to use the Droid X as a WiFi enabled device (like a small tablet) but without
activating any data or minutes plan with Verizon. Can this be done, and if so, how?

Yeah, at the activation screen just tap the corners of the screen, starting at the top left and work around clockwise. It'll bypass the activation, and you have your wifi only device.

I play with my mother's old X that's not activated and use my X as a phone. My mother's X is my X-pod. Can't Swype on an iPod or iPhone
