I have a stock DROIDX and my download speeds have dropped drastically. I used the speed test app and it ranges from 10-20kbps. My uploads are around 450kbps and ping about 180. I dialed *228 early this morning and it seemed to help for a little while but it is now very slow again. Any ideas? Will rooting help with this issue? Thanks in advance.

try wiping the cache partion in factory recovery...
post script: to wipe the cache partition turn the phone off
reboot holding the home and power button till you see the android dude pop up
if your on gingerbread press both volume buttons
if your on froyo press the search key
then use the volume down button to navigate to wipe cache partition
if on froyo use the camera key to select
if on gingerbread use the power button to select
once it's done... reboot... see if that helps

I decided to clear the cache but to no avail. My wife has the same phone and I compared the speeds and they are not even close. Even the signal on her phone is stronger. If I have time I may go by the Verizon store tomorrow. Any other ideas? Fyi I gingerbread.
