    SD Card is unusable

I've got OTA, unrooted Gingerbread (latest), today my DX rebooted in my pocket. The vibration made me think I was getting a txt so I pull it out to see it rebooting. When it finished the SD card is now seen as a Blank or unrecognized format. When I try to re-format it nothing happens either from the status bar or from Settings. My Mac doesn't see the card either.

    Any ideas? TIA

What size of card is it?
And how are you trying to plug it into your computer

It's the stock 16G MicroSD card that came with the phone. I'm using a Kingston MicroSD adapter and using an ioGear card reader. It flashes a couple of times while it attempts to read but the system never sees it.

Also, my printer, an HP all in one, has a built in card reader, when it's in there the printer actually pops up an error, "Memory Card Error."

It's a bad no name card. Same happened to mine. Got stupid run arounds at Verizon stores. One made me call San Disk, found out wasn't made by them(after long time on phone to outsource country). Notice the no name on the card. Another store tried to get me to call I forget who. Finally ordered a card direct from San Disk, works fine. Also telephoned customer service, explained situation and Verizon sent me a new card too.

Seems reps at stores are programmed to piss you off.

You are better off with a new higher quality card. Keep it backed up with dropbox and backing to your hard drive.

Bummer. I had some pics on there from a small Red Hot Chili Peppers show that happened about a month ago. :-/

You are correct, I pulled the card and it's a no namer... Vzw is sending another. Now I'm wondering if I should even use it. I'm bumming.

Since the card went south my phone is about twice a fast now though! (Just trying to stay positive) Thanks.
