Angry 3G Still Not Working After Hard Reset

For some reason my Droid's 3G is not working. I've searched this forum and also searched google. I've checked the battery settings and I've done the data manager troubleshoot as well. I just did a factory reset and it's still not working. I don't know what else to do and really to do. I appreciate the help.

Is there a 3g icon (w/ full bars) and no data transfer? Does it stay on 1x instead, or do you get no internet at all?

Is your background data turned on? Perhaps you bumped a toggle for it, easily done on a rom like miui.

    Are you on stock gingerbread?

You don't see a triangle on your notification bar do you?

I'm sorry, but I don't know what gingerbread is. I am not getting the 3G icon at all and my background data is checked.

Not sure if this would be of any help, since you already run the hard reset.

I probably lost 3G for last couple of days and did not notice it until today, since i am using wifi most of the time.

Anyway, I called VZW tech support and they were able to fix it in minutes.

Go to setting, then to battery data manager,
    click/select data delivery
click data enabled and data roaming

Mine 3G service came up right away. Not sure why they were disabled. I believe data roaming was not turned on earlier anyway. But 'data enabled' why got disabled, no clue about that.

    Also check setting->mobile networks
Mine shows 'system select' and nothing else
clicking 'system select' , make sure automatic is selected. This was the first thing tech checked.

I hope this helps you too.

for voice call bars, you may want to try *228 to program your roaming.

By the way, I have droid X with 2.3.3 gingerbread, with no changes to OS. It is like what came from VZW.

I'm having a similar problem. I took a trip to a rural area with limited coverage using my Droid x as a mobile hotspot all the way there. At some point, I lost my data connection and all internet capabilities. I returned home on Labor Day but the data connection could not be reestablished. I have reboot. I have restored to factory default settings. I took the phone in to Verizon and had a tech look at it. I called the phone techs on 4 occasions. I still have no data connection. My mobile hotspot works, but the data connection will connect briefly then disconnect. Any fixes or ideas. Verizon cannot even diagnose the problem. The phone is a year old.

I didn't have a problem with that kind of thing happening until the .596 OTA. Usually doing a battery pull would do the trick for restoring it. If battery pulls and factory resets don't do the trick and unless someone who knows more than I do chimes in with a solution that I'm unaware of, then I'd suggest trying to get a warranty exchange on it.

Thank you for all the posts. Unfortunately the issue still hasn't been fixed and I just got off the phone with Verizon and I'm still within my warranty period, so they will be sending out a new phone to me next week.

One quick thing I should mention, one of the techs told me that some of the anti-virus programs have been known to cause issues with the 3G as well, but after the hard reset, that app was gone and the phone still had problems. Just a FWIW.

You don't need antivirus apps, fyi. Cause more issues and there aren't really any viruses for android, more malicious apps.
