White & Blue Wifi and 3g/1g what is it?

It seems that all the problems i'm having with google voice and other apps are directly connected to the data that i'm sending receiving.

Using android 2.3.3

When the Wifi or 3g/1g icons are BLUE, everything seems to work fine... but when they are WHITE everything is jacked up! I have to power down the phone and restart for them to become blue again.

What is with the color change?

Blue shows that you have an active connection, white means nothing's being transferred.

From what I understand, the blue means you have a fully established connection with the data network. When it is white, it is trying to make that fully established connection.

When it goes white, is dosent go back to blue unless it's rebooted. I went through the settings but can't seem to find anything that would make it "sleep" the data connection.

Does yours require a reboot to go back to blue? For me, it goes white for a few seconds and then jumps back to blue without a power down.
