i just came from iphone life too...

with ical, you can import all these using the online google calender program, makes it real easy!!

as far as contacts go, your 'address book' is now online at gmail.com and will sync auto daily i believe!

once you get the hang of the learning curve, you will really enjoy the android OS

Welcome to the forums!! Once you are setup with google, your phone should automatically sync your contacts and calendar. You can edit them on your phone or in your google.com account on a computer and they will update in the next sync cycle. And your world just got a whole lot bigger - glad ya found us!!

Yeah, but... Getting the info from iCal to google calendar is the problem. Sure you can either import or export the calendar. But how do you get it to sync. with every change made on either the desktop or the handheld device?

I use Jorte for my calendar on my phone and anytime I update the calendar on the phone or on google, it adds it to both my phone and my wife's phone. It autosyncs. Can you not find the auto sync feature or am I misunderstanding the problem?

I'm having the same problem. When I add things to the calendar on my phone it will show up in iCal, but nothing I put on iCal shows up on my phone. I've been playing with it for a few months and can't figure out how to make it work.

Some have responded that this is easy, but in fact it takes some outside third party app. You can try "The missing sync" which works will but requires using USB and manually activating the sync. There is "SyncMate" which work flawlessly until they fixed it until it was broken, with version 3.0 and now I can not use it. They have poor to none technical support. The complication comes from how many calendars you have. Apple made this over complicated, by allowing users to created multiple calendars. When you set up the sync you have to know which calendars are selected to sync.
I have been using the droid for about 1 month and will be first in line with the Verizon iphone. The problem is no one really knows all the quirks to get a Mac to sync with a droid. The iphone is seemless and far less complicated.

This is why there will always be apple products. The android phone has to be all things to all people ... work with all existing sw etc. But apple only has to write specifically to their hw/sw. Makes life pretty easy peasy
