Transfering photOs and video from Droid X to computer

Does anyone know where photos and videos that Ive recorded on my Droid go? I pulled out the SD card and put it into my computer, but when exploring that card I can't seem to find them. I want to move the, off my phone and onto my computer. Thanks!

Maybe they are on the phone's memory and not the SD card. You should download Verizon's VCast media manager. It makes transferring stuff way easier.

Don't download more stuff...it's just bloat.

On the root of your SD Card there's a folder called "DCIM"...inside it is one called "Camera"...that's where everything I've taken with my camera gets stored.

Also, there's no need to pull your SD Card. Use the data cable (or pull it from your charger) to connect the phone directly to your PC and use USB Mass Storage Mode.

Go to itookthisonmyphone.com, set up and account, and download the app for your phone. After that, any photo or video you take will automatically get uploaded to the website where they get stored for you, for FREE. You can then go and download whatever you want and save it to your comp. Very handy little app!

Both Picasa and YouTube are free too...not sure why you need to go through the trouble of signing up for another service and downloading an app when the functionality and apps are already built into your phone.

Well I'm not sure if Picasa will automatically upload your photos and videos, but this one will. That is one reason.

I've got to get out of the old school mindset and into the Smart Phone mindset. Of course Picasa and YouTube are my solutions. The only "downside" is that I need to be on WiFi to make it work well, but that's fine. Thanks for the advice!

Why don't you just plug the phone into the computer via USB? Then when windows pops up the file manager screen, hit import pictures and videos.
