How do you manually reboot the Droid X?

On the iPhone it is as simple as holding down the Home button and the power button at the same time.

On the Droid X do you just hold the power button down until it shuts down and then push again to start up? Is that considered a hard reset?

Are there both hard resets and soft resets on the Droid X?

Turning off, Taking out the battery = Soft Reset/Reboot

Factory Data Reset = Hard reset

Yes, you just hold down the power button. No, it's the soft reset mentioned above.

Great question. I haven't seen anything official so I won't speculate.
I have to turn mine off and on every few days because of apps glitching anyhow.

I used to use QuickPull on my BB Curve to reboot the phone everyday, but there's nothing like that for the DX (unless you're rooted). I've read several posters who have hundreds of hours of up-time between reboots and all is well. I think it might depend on what apps you have downloaded and are using. If you're not having any problems, I'd just leave the phone on. Then again, shutting the phone off can't hurt, can it?

You dont have to pull your battery for a soft reset with the X. Just turning off and turning back on will do the job.
