Opening browser freezes phone, requires battery pull
Hi everyone, I'm new here but I'm really hoping I can find someone who will help me with this issue. I updated to Gingerbread about 2 weeks ago and everything has been going great until last night. I opened the stock browser and my Droid X completely froze, absolutely nothing would work and it wasn't even responsive to the power button. I waited about 3 minutes but it never unfroze and I had to pull the battery. I was hoping that would fix it, but unfortunately the same thing happened three more times. I guess for now I just won't open the browser at all until I figure this out, which is really upsetting. :/ Hopefully someone can help me! Oh and I don't know if this has anything to do with it but I'm also using Launcher Pro. And I haven't rooted it.

Droid X Forums
Hello I am new to this site to. I am having the exact same problem with my DROID X was wondering if you had found a solution to your problem. And if so what was your fix? It is very frustrating when on a forum and it freezes and you have to stop install battery put back in and restart your phone. I have done many hard resets with know luck. I even sent in for a new phone only to have the same problems to again. If you find out anything it would be very appreciated and I would do like wise. Thank you and hope you get your problem solved. Thanks Locojo
Try menu button, settings, applications, manage applications, scroll down to your browser and clear data.
Also try a different browser, Dolphin HD is much better than stock and it's free.
Liberty 3 -- too many roms too little time.
I did what Ryant said (clear data and clear cache) and it fixed the problem. Hopefully it does the same thing for you! Thanks for the help Ryant!
Thanks I will give it a try and see if that works and thanks again.
