facebook sync

Well actually my droid froze and when i rebooted it it wouldnt get past the droid eye so i hard reset it and everything and when the backup assistant restored my contacts it restored only the essential ones minus a couple that i hadnt edited myself but now the problem is that the contacts wont sync to facebook at all. i cant get any data for them from there

If you haven't tried it, go to Facebook app, settings, and select "Sync Contacts". Change it to "Remove Facebook data", then exit the app (for grins, don't know if it's needed). Wait a minute or two then relaunch the app and change it to the sync level you want (I use "sync with existing contacts").

I couldn't get this to show the "sync contacts" thing. Can you help me to only sync who was already in my phone book. I don't want all 300 nor just part of the 300 but only the ones I put in my phonebook myself. Is that even possible without doing another factory reset?

You cannot have "some" facebook friends, and the Sync option is currently unavailable on the Droid X while Facebook changes their API.

Hi,
I just bought my new Samsung Acclaim a few days ago and whenever I would add contacts, it would automatically sync their information from facebook and list it under their name. Now all of a sudden it deleted all their information besides their phone number. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks!

That feature happens when you set up your fb acct. Go to accts, delete fb, set it up again. At the end of set up it will ask if you want fb to be default for your contacts, either select yes or no.

Question....I just got my Droid X last week. All of my contacts were synced with my Facebook friends list. I don't really want that but I'm not savvy enough to try and figure out how to link only some of the contacts so I just left it alone. My issue is that I have a couple of contacts that have the same name and the phone and linked all of the information together under one contact. So I now have a bunch of phone numbers, email addresses and two FB and Linked In profiles under one person. How can I separate them out without having to manually delete the whole contact and add the information back in separately? Or can I?
