i upgraded to gingerbread and now i always have the sync icon in the bar at the top of the screen...how do i turn it off ?

i upgraded to gingerbread and now i always have the sync icon in the bar at the top of the screen...how do i turn it off ?
If it's the media share sync, use the pulldown to open the media sync, then uncheck "always notify" (or something like that)
Harley is right.....but I just froze it to be sure.
