    Help me prepare my rooted DroidX for the gingerbread update....

    so, i have a rooted droid x...i removed bloatware and some other stuff i didnt want. what do i need to do so when the update is released, ill be able to safely get it?

    i assume need to flash my sbf back to stock??...could someone maybe direct me to the download and directions on how to do that??

    This is the easiest way to SBF back to stock so you can take the OTA:

    Go ahead and make the cd or USB and test it out to the point that you get the choice to pick #1 (bootloader) or #2 (not ready)...Just don't bother to connect the phone, once you can get it to that point, you will know it will work when the time comes..

    i have rds lite and flashed once before using that....it worked well, i just forgot how to do it and i dont have the SBF file anymore. any instructions on how to do it using that method?

    You said you removed bloatware. Did you really remove it or did you freeze it or rename it. If you removed it you will need to sbf but if you didn't you can just rename back or unfreeze without sbfing. You should then be ready. You can take the ota while rooted, it will just remove root usually when it updates.

    If I am wrong someone please correct me.

    thanks! just flashed. worked perfect. i was nervous cause the instructions said it might enter a boot loop and boot loops scare me cause i think i broke my phone. but it didnt even boot loop...just turned on all fresh and new.

    so i guess im ready for gingerbread on friday!
