Changing songs during navigation without interrupting nav -- is this possible?

I run the Car Dock app, and use Navigation through it. If I then want to play some music, I go back to the main Car Dock page and start the player... then when I go back to Navigation, I have to start over. It doesn't pick up where it left off. Same thing if I want to change tracks in the middle of navigating.

Is there a good workaround for this? I've been stumbling with QuickDesk and Power Strip, to no avail. I can't get my search button to register anything other than voice search, even with the Button Shortcut app. Double-home doesn't work with QuickDesk when I'm running Car Dock; it just registers my default double-home action. Single home works OK, but then I have trouble exiting Car Dock -- I end up in an infinite loop of Car Dock and Quick Desk. (And I lose my single-home click action, which is to pull down the hidden notification bar.)

I looked at the Car Dock v2 app, but want my background to be black; can't figure out how to do that. My usual background is too fussy for the car and big icons.

    Help?

    Anyone?

I managed to get Button Shortcut to use my camera button to launch QuickDesk, so that works OK... but it seems like such a clunky solution. What if I need to make a call while navigating? Would I have to restart the navigation? There must be a way to do this without needing several apps, right?

I found a 90% solution. After you change the song, navigation should be tuning in the background. Poul down your notification bar and select the navigation already in progress. Let me know of that helped.

LOL -- glad to know it's not just me!

The current nav doesn't show up in my notification bar once I back out of nav to get to the music controls... It disappears as soon as I press the back button.

I've been working with QuickDesk (via my camera button) and it's actually not bad. I'll stick with that until a better solution comes along.

    Thanks anyway!

My camera button stopped working for launching QuickDesk, so I had to figure something else out. Turns out the music player shows up in the notification bar, so I can pull it down while navigating. Still kinda kludgy as it requires more attention than I care to give while driving, but it works.

(Oh, and my camera button reassignment stopped working because I had installed Vignette.)
