Droid X random Rebooting / restarting

any one else have this issue?

my droid x has rebooted itself a few time since ive gotten it. it seems to be doing it more often than before when i first got it. its so far been only at random times when i wasn't even using it.

for example: just sitting here at my desk working and notice out of the corner of my eye the lil "M" logo pop up on my phone then followed by the red eye (you know, normal boot sequence). or at the grocery store, just sent my wife a txt msg. put the phone in my pocket waiting for her reply. check the phone 1 min later and its off? when i tried turning it back on it wouldn't go. so took out the battery, waited a few seconds, put it back in and booted up fine.

i made a call to Verizon and they said pretty much what i thought they would tell me and that is put the phone back to stock and see if it does it again. so thats what im doing, so far been up and running for just under 10hrs with no restarts.

just FYI im not rooted nor ever tried rooting or modding anything. aside from apps from the market place im completely stock.

Funny that you mention that it shut off in the grocery store. I had the same thing happen yesterday I sent my boyfriend a text from the grocery store. It shut off and wouldnt turn back on, I also had to take the battery out and put it back in then it rebooted.
Very weird but this is the only time this has happened to me. Hoping its the only time and not the first of many.

Froyo can't come sooner since phones don't get dick for updates.

Wish they'd just release small patches all the time like game devs.

I picked up my replacement phone last Friday and after swapping out the phones and attempted a call with the new one (to make sure the speaker didnt crackle like the first one) in the middle of a short call it rebooted. Then for the next hour it rebooted everytime I shut the display off. I did two factory resets and finally a battery pull which has seemed to fix it. I had one more reboot at about 1:30 Sat morning. And one more yesterday after plugging it into the computer and selecting Mass Storage.

it seems a good handful of people are experiencing this. but it doesn't seem that VW have a specific troubleshooting method for this yet.

i have about 20days to see if this is just a software thing. i hope so!

i don't want to RMA my phone if the chances of getting a refurb are even 1%

I got the phone the day it came out, and i would say that it has rebooted on me about 5-7 times so far.

I have no reboot issues, except if I am using LauncherPro. I had it installed and running for about 2 hours and it rebooted 3 times.

Im at 13 hours up time if that tells you anything.

i was running LP as well when i had my reboots. but in all fairness i never gave the stock launcher much of a chance. maybe 20min if that. im back on the stock launcher right now (factory reset, only app installed is google voice) and haven't had a reboot yet... but like i said before its been random and not very often. so far be up for 12hrs no reboots.

can anyone confirm having rebooting issues while NOT running LP? if so then i guess that can be ruled out.

Mine kept rebooting after a factory reset, nothing installed, everytime Id shut the screen off. Battery pull fixed it for the most part. So I cant necessarily blame LP.
