Droid X random Rebooting / restarting

Mine kept rebooting after a factory reset, nothing installed, everytime Id shut the screen off. Battery pull fixed it for the most part. So I cant necessarily blame LP.

ive done several battery pulls (removing SD card) so thats not a long term fix for me.

but 2 of the times my phone turned off on its own was shortly after i locked my phone with the top button.

I had some rebooting issues as well. Do any of you have atk installed? I uninstalled it and it made my phone alot better. It was doing it every day sometimes multiple times. Now its alot better. Just throwing it out there

Yea locking the phone with the top power button made mine reboot too, also just letting it sit for 1 minute until it shut the screen off on its own.

I had the problem brand new, with NO root / LP.

Since then I have rooted and running LP, its no better or no worse. still 2-3 times a day.

I'm not sending my phone back because hard resets did not fix the issue, come on 2.2

My original X I got on launch day did not do this. Its the replacement Ive had the reboot issues with, like they rushed them to get out the door.

there seems to be a guy on the moto forums (Matt) that seems to be in contact with the engineers over at Moto. he has been trying to get info on this issue to help the engys out in getting things worked out for us.

Ive also noticed that my X now out of no where assigns what ever ringtone it wants to sms messages (using stock text app btw) Yesterday it was an ACDC song from my sdcard and I switched it back to what I wanted thinking it was a fluke, and today it happened again and was some other internal ringtone. weird!!!

did it do that while connected to your computer by USB?

i noticed that mine did that when the PC is accessing the SD card. but after i unplug it it goes back to the ring tone i had it set to.

Its possible, but mine are not switching back to what I had selected before.

Mine has had a few now too. Google nav froze up on me and after I let it sit, I got the dialogue box and it crashed when i forced closed it. The other time was just during normal nav use. I am running ADW but all I had going in the background was a streaming music app...
